The Kingsley Hotel is a very popular hotel both with locals and visitors - this Cork Hotel is located just off the western road at the beginning of the “straight” road, overlooking… the river Lee, and adjacent to the Lee fields - its not quite close enough to walk to the city centre and back but no matter - the location is perfect if you are planning to use it as a base from which to drive into west Cork or Kerry being on the west side of the city - the food is generally recognized as being very good (this reviewer has eaten there a few times) and although the recent refurbishments might have caused a few hic-cups in terms of service and standard - the end result is wonderful - this Cork Hotel is built on a site that was once home to “the baths” : a large outdoor concrete swimming area - there is no doubt that the new indoor pool which features in the Kingsley hotel is much more upmarket and appealing than the baths were.
